Located between the Kitzbühel Horn and the Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel's ski area is in an extremely propitious north-west geographical barrier, which means that there is snow cover from December to April, ensuring skiing right into the valley. Due to the grass cover right up to 2000 metres altitude ¬ in contrast to the mostly rocky surface in other ski areas ¬ even relatively low amounts of snow suffice for perfect skiing in Kitzbühel.
Around 173 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes and 36 kilometres of marked ski routes of all difficulty levels, action-packed snowboard fun parks, natural toboggan runs, along with hundreds of kilometres of cross-country slopes and winter hiking trails, make Kitzbühel's ski area, which incidentally stretches over seven districts and two federal states, an absolute winter sports paradise in the Alps.
With a total of 54 state-of-the-art cable cars and lift facilities, Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel is the biggest cable car business in Austria and every day carries lots of happy winter sports fans to the snow-covered slopes, pistes, ski lodges and snack stations.
